Our content

The articles, games, illustrations and design of Back Then Daily belong to us or are used with permission. Photographs from other sources belong to their owners and are credited under each image.

You’re welcome to:

• read, print and share our articles for your own personal use;
• share links to any page;
• quote a short passage, with credit to Back Then Daily and a link to the article.

Please don’t copy whole articles, republish our work on another site or in print, or use it commercially without written permission. Write to us if you’d like to.

For enjoyment and information

Our articles are about history and memories. Prices, values and “today’s money” figures are historical illustrations and estimates based on the sources we cite. Our games and polls are for fun. There are no prizes, and poll results aren’t scientific.

What you send us

When you send us a memory, a photo or a comment, you confirm it’s yours to share and allow us to edit it and publish it on Back Then Daily and in our email, with your first name and state. We’ll ask before we publish anything you send. Please don’t send anything private about other people.

Using the site fairly

Please don’t try to break into the site, interfere with how it works, overload it with automated requests, or use it for anything unlawful.

Ads and links

Back Then Daily shows ads from third parties and links to other websites, including our sources. We aren’t responsible for their content, products or privacy practices. An ad on our site isn’t an endorsement.

The daily email

The email is free. You can unsubscribe anytime with the link at the bottom of every message. We may change or stop the email at any time.

No warranty

We work hard to get things right, but the site and the email are provided “as is”. We don’t promise they’ll always be available, error-free or complete. To the fullest extent the law allows, Back Then Daily isn’t liable for any loss that comes from using the site or relying on its content.

Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows when they last changed. Using the site after a change means you accept the new terms.
